I am in love with Loreal professionnel haircolor….They are so innovative and they strive to develop new formulations and products to keep hair healthy. so I decided that I wanted to test out more of their line by performing a color transformation on anyone who would let me. Red haircolor is my favorite right now. Red is so rich and can be added to spice up brunette hair just by adding highlights or lowlights. My beautiful client Lauren jumped on my offer and I was just so excited she did. She was exactly the person I was thinking of when i decided to transform a person into beautiful sassy redhead.

I introduced Lauren to haircolor not to long ago by adding soft copper highlights using a balayage technique in the face frame and top sections of her hair. Not only does she look amazing with red hair but it turned out that she really likes the color also. Red can be very scary to some clients so I always recommend talking to clients and slowly introducing them to the color by adding highlights or low-lights. All over color can be quite shocking at first.

My inspiration for Lauren’s new color was from the beautiful Julia Roberts and a picture I had seen of her and her sparking red color. For Lauren, I wanted to add a deep cherry or wine color as the base and brighten up the face frame and ends (a soft ombre effect) with copper highlights using the art of balayage. If you do not know what balayage is…it is the technique of painting on highlights rather than using foils. The look is soft, more artistic and natural. All using Richesse demi-permanent haircolor and platinium non-ammonia bleach. What do you think of Lauren’s new look??? Doesn’t she make an stunning redhead?
